Bolt Work
So You Want To Be A Writer |
Back To The Future |
Serial Podcast |
A BOLT made for improving your writing and working with a group for feedback. We wrote every day and shared clips from each piece with the group. You can find my work from this project below.
Writing Pieces |
A BOLT involving the work of looking into the science of the past, then creating a new experiment and conducting it.
Experiment Work |
Looking into the events of Adnan Syed and the murder that he was sentanced for, he listened to the serial podcast and had multiple discussions and assignments on each episode.
Assignment and Notes |
Master Shots |
Street Art |
Vegas Baby |
Since I am extremely involved in camera work and photography I figured I would love this BOLT, and I was absolutely right. Throughout the course of a few weeks we took and learned many different types of camera shots.
Videos Here |
This BOLT was lead by Chad Morris and looked into the use and message of street art. It was so cool to gain further knowledge in this topic that I have shown minor interest in. At the end I wrote an essay on Banksy's art and the message he spreads with it.

Ever wondered about the odds and probabilities you have in certain vegas games? Well that is exactly what Mr. Justice and my group looked into in this BOLT. We studied the numbers behind games such as roullete, craps, and blackjack!

Why So Sad? |
Serial Season 2 |
Justice led another group and I through the process of identifying mathmatical patterns just by looking at them. This bolt was really interesting and left me with some intersting puzzles to work through.
|
Looking into tragedy and how it is applied in film and literature. After reading multiple stories, both real and fake, I wrote an essay detailing how Pat Tillman's (a US soldier killed by friendly fire) death was a tragedy.
Essay Here |
In 2009, Bowe Bergdahl walked off his station in Afghanistan and was captured by the Taliban. A group of us followed Serial Season 2 as we looked into what happened over the years of Bergdahl's capture.

Journalism |
Mosaic EDU |
Capitalism |
Mr. Schneider led a BOLT looking into what journalism is and how to write journalistic articles. Our group learned how to research, interview, and write our own news articles.
Work Here |
Mosaic EDU taught a group of mosaic students, myself included, how to teach and introducted us to our philosophy of education. Our group of students have now lead our own BOLTs, I taught a course on pirate history.
Work Here Bolt Work Here |
While reading through a book including a short introduction to what capitalism is and what it has affected in history. Throughout the course we wrote multiple papers about different subjects adressed in the book.
Papers and Research Here |
Dystopian Stories and 1984 |
Communism 101 |
Bees |
Michael Schneider and a group of students read through the book "1984". We discussed the books meaning and its significance compared to other dystopian literature. We also wrote multiple papers on subjects throughout the book
Work Here |
Similar to the Capitalism Bolt, Shaun Martin assisted a group of students into reading a short introduction to Communism and writing multiple papers on its history and meaning
Work Here |
Joel Justice is leading a BOLT over the topic of Bees. This BOLT is ongoing and looking into the elements of bees, what they do, and how we can learn from them.

Inquiry Blocks
Flop 2 |
Bioethics |
Talkin' Politics |
Flop 2 is an inquiry block lead by Shaun Martin where a group of kids write, film, and edit a movie for public viewing. Branigan Given and I are directing the movie as well as assisting in writing and editing. The movie is still in production and will be released within the first week of May in 2017.
|
Bioethics is an inquiry block lead by Kayla Lang. Myself, as well as about 10 other students met twice every week to research and discuss multiple bioethical debate topics. These topics included but were not limited to steroid use in professional sports, vaccinations, and genetic testing.
|
Talkin' Politics was an inquiry block lead by Shaun Martin and Michael Schneider. A large group of students studied and identified where they were on the political spectrum. Then continued by creating their own political system and manifesto.
