As of Monday of this week I joined a Bolt focused on the idea of empathy, helping other people, and making a difference. After taking a personality quiz, the two qualities that I care most about are expression and acceptance, so I have decided to focus around LGBTQ+, Immigration, and freedom of expression non-profits. When searching locally, I found the incredible foundation of "GLBT Colorado", which creates many events made to meet new people in a similar situation and celebrating sexuality. I also found the non-profit organization "Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition", focused around accepting and integrating immigrants into and around the area of Denver. "LGBT Detroit" is a very similar organization to "GLBT Colorado", but a different organization I found is called the "Freedom of Press Foundation", a foundation based around funding and supporting freedom of the press and freedom of speech. The further out foundations I looked into all have similar themes of LGBT and Immigration, but I have not researched them enough to say what all they have done.

Although I am doing one less BOLT than I have done in any of the previous sessions, went from 3 to 2, work is packing up on me. Most of the work I am currently doing is from being the student lead on MTV, which just started a week ago, and from my other BOLTs that I was not able to finish before break started. All of it is stacking up, leading my to participate in 4-5 different BOLTs, MTV, and the lead inquiry on politics.
On my inquiry block alone I am not too proud of my work, I was not able to produce a big project from my question and I was not as passionate as I believed I would be. The rest of my work I am very proud of, the BOLT work that I did in the 6 different BOLTs I participated in, were all very nice and showed lots of learning. My individual projects were also very great and showed lots of growth, whether it was my cinematography work, or my writing, I loved it.
In preparation for the Mosaic Demonstration of Learning, I have made a video that will be shared for the group, I included a section of the video to explain what it is about and answer a few questions because I will not be there. I am very proud of the video and I wish I was there to see people's reaction to it.
My entire week so far has been made up of two big things, finishing up my website and improving it, and finishing all of the BOLT projects I am in. My website is looking fairly nice, I restarted it because I did not like the look or feel of the previous one. The one main change I need to make on my website is improving the archives page, it is just a list, looks like I don't have much work, and shows no passion towards any of the work that has been done. My BOLTs are going great, Martin's Serial podcast BOLT is really fun and the only part of it I had to get done this week was making my own podcast with two others sharing our ideas. Schneider's So You Wanna Be A Writer BOLT has been a super enlightening and enjoyful experience and it has really helped me figure out how to get my creative process going. Klang's Back to the Future BOLT lead me to conduct a really fun experiment that I was super interested in. Overall these first few weeks of school have been absolutely amazing and I am so happy with what Mosaic is becoming.
It has been about 2 weeks since the beginning of the school year when I hopped back into Mosaic. The first week was getting acquianted to the changes in the program in welcoming new students, we worked on 3 different 1-day projects where in one of them Bryce, Branigan, and I made a lamp out of a gas container and some old wires. I am still really loving the program and know it is for me, I like the idea of BOLTs especially because it will help me earn the specific credits I need if I get through the slightly intensive BOLT. I have tons of ideas and I can't wait until I get to really put them all to work and show others what I have done!
